BREAKING NEWS Drug Enforcement Agency – Remote Prescription of Controlled Substances Extension

Today, October 6, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), jointly with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), officially announced another extension of the remote prescription of controlled substances flexibilities that existed during the COVID-19 public health emergency through CY2024. This is a straight extension. The agencies note that this extension is necessary to thoroughly consider the feedback received during the Telemedicine Listening Sessions last month and comments provided in response to the previously proposed rules.
